Samsung Announces Galaxy Note 8.0

On the eve of Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2013, the Korean electronics company announced the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 the smallest Note tablet to date that sports the S-pen and to compete Apple's iPad Mini. The confirmation of GNote 8.0 was made in Barcelona Spain on Sunday after a lot of rumors, leaked images and speculations emerged online the prior months.

As the name suggests, the Note 8 sports an 8-inch display with 800x1280 pixels.  This new Note runs on Google's Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, will be powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core processor which is a Samsung Exynos Chip partnered with 2GB of RAM. For memory storage it comes in two variants, 16GB and 32GB and still can be expandable via microSD card up to 64GB. Two cameras are also present on this one where the back camera is a 5-megapixel and the front one at 1.5MP while the battery is pegged at 4,600mAh. And another thing to note here is that this tablet is capable of making and receiving calls, just like the phablet Notes.

According to Samsung's announcement, the Galaxy Note 8.0 is to be released in the second quarter of 2013 but the pricing was not mentioned. If the Note 8 will be priced the same as the pricing of iPad Mini, then this really means war.
