Walt Disney Will Movie Adapt "Artemis Fowl"

About a year or two ago when I was at a book store nearby, I saw books of Artemis Fowl. It's a multiple series book, the cover designs were very nice and would really make you try to read it. While looking at the books, I asked how come this book hasn't made any movie deal yet? I don't think it was a flop novel when the author has published multiple follow ups.

Just today that question was answered and I am happy to know it. Why? It's because Walt Disney has made an announcement that it is teaming up with Harvey Weinstein as a producer for the movie adaptation of the said book.

Another good news about Eoin Colfer's best selling children's fiction series turning into a full feature film is that the screenplay will be written by Michael Goldenberg who is the same man who wrote the silver screen adaptation of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.  The first movie (let's hope the rest of the series will follow) will be based on the first two installments of the book. Currently, Artemis Fowl is an 8-series novel so it's clear that book-to-movie and Artemis Fowl's fans will have a very good treat should this first try make a box office name when it gets released.

For now those are the only information we have and let's hope that this plan will go smoothly until we see ourselves in a cinema house watching Fowl in a major motion picture. Artemis Fowl tells the story of a 12-year old criminal mastermind who kidnaps a fairy to harness its power in order to save his family.
