Nokia Officially Announces the Lumia 1520 Phablet

It has been rumored many times in the past couple of months and now the Finnish tech firm at its Nokia World 2013 press event in Abu Dhabi has finally announced its very first phablet offering sporting Microsoft's Windows Phone operating system, Nokia Lumia 1520 is officially unveiled.

The moment the Lumia 1520 is confirmed I immediately checked its battery to see if the rumored 3,400mAh battery size was accurate. And yes, it was accurate. Not only that, other speculated specs were also confirmed. And for the record, this Lumia 1520 is the biggest Windows Phone to date and the very first one to sport a 1080p display. Nokia is really raising the bar for Windows Phone OS race. And if this one makes a record in the coming months, I am pretty sure this is not the only Windows-powered phablet we are going to see coming around.

The Nokia Lumia 1520 sports a 6-inch Clearback Full HD display, 1920x1080 resolution. Not only that, the giant Lumia is powered by a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor paired with Adreno 330 GPU. There is also the 2GB of RAM for multitasking purposes and a default 32GB internal storage which is expandable via microSD card up to additional 64GB. As what had been reported, it will support 4G LTE networks, the 20MP rear camera with dual LED Flash and PureView technology.

Like what I said in my previous post, if the Lumia 1520 was a reality then it will become the first in my favorite smartphone-tablet hybrid after the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 which also pack a punch right out of the box. I am really now imagining myself using this Lumia device at home and on the go. Let's just hope that the pricing will not be that pocket-hurting one. And please, more apps! Just at least bring the Temple Run 2 to these Lumia devices and I will be fine.
