Sony Xperia Z Ultra Your WiFi-Only Smartphone Just Got Unveiled

Sony has unveiled another Xperia Z device, it's not actually a new Android device from the Japanese tech company, it is the same Sony Xperia Z Ultra phablet we know with the elimination of cellular connectivity. It is a wifi-only Android 4.2 Jellybean smartphone which will currently be available in Japan.

It is identical to the current Sony Xperia Z Ultra out there which means if you buy this one you will still get the same 6.4-inch Full HD 1080p display with a Quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB RAM underneath it, running Android 4.2 Jellybean OS, an 8MP camera and of course the waterproof feature. And most of all, it is marketed as a tablet. I don't know why they categorized this as a tablet when it only measures 6.4 inches. It is more appropriate to be a phablet than a slate, I think. I call a device a tablet when it measures atleast 7 inches and anything between 5 and 6.9 inches a phablet.

This will initially be released in Japan with a price tag equivalent to around $500. No word yet if the device will make its way to the international market or not. And did you know that there was also a Google Play Edition of Xperia Z Ultra that was released last month?
