Gionee GPad G5 a Hexa-core Powered Smartphone Now Official

Gionee has just announced a new smartphone powered by a hexa-core processor, at least in India a couple of days ago. The Gpad G5 is now official and will be available starting this week both online and offline stores. If my memory serves me right, this is the only device I heard sporting a hexa-core processor, there might be other known gadgets out there that feature this SoC configuration I am not just so sure.

The processor's manufacturer is not mentioned but many believed it is most likely by MediaTek. It is clocked at 1.5GHz, a Cortex A7 chip. Additionally there is 1GB of RAM onboard the device and an 8GB internal storage which is expandable to another 32GB via microSD card.

The Gpad G5 is a phablet size Android 4.4 Kitkat device at 5.5 inches with HD IPS 1280x720 display. Its screen is protected by AGC Dragontrail Glass and for picture taking purposes, users will have an 8MP rear camera both with autofocus and LED flash paired with a 2MP front facing camera. Connectivity wise, the Gpad G5 supports 3G and supports dual SIM functionality. The battery size is a smaller one though which only has 2,400mAh while its predecessor Gpad G4 sports 3,200mAh size according to GSMArena site.
