From 512MB card that was introduced in 2003, Sandisk is back with the Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-I card and it is the biggest SD card currently available to consumers that offers a staggering 512GB of storage space. This new card will provide write speed of up to 90MB/s and up to 95MB/s transfer speed. Plus it is temperature proof, water proof, shock proof, and x-ray proof storage device.
For a regular consumer this is too big to be used entirely in a short span of time but if you are a photographer or videographer who are fond of capturing and recording things in super high-def for example in 4K Ultra HD resolution, then this is going to be a lot of help. And that is the exact market this new SD card is targeting. So how much this is going to be for? Sandisk said it will be available for $799.99. Users can also get the SD can in 256GB and 128GB variants. Availability date has yet to be announced by Sandisk.
