Huawei just announced the Ascend Mate 7 phablet device sporting great specs and premium look and feel. The name is quite confusing if you take this the same way other manufacturers name their devices especially tablets. The Mate 7 is not a 7 incher slate but a 6 incher one. Along with that screen size is a Full HD display. I know some of you might have said that 1920x1080 resolution is now getting old and Quad HD or 2560x1440 resolution is the new hot picks, but I think 1080p are still very good display quality even if I am looking for a high-end device.
The processor is powered by Huawei's own HiSilicon Kirin 925 processor which is as powerful as Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 SoC, that's because this chip supports LTE-Advanced technology which provides up to 300Mbps download speed. Additionally it's an octa-core processor consists of four A15 1.8GHz chips and four A7 1.3GHz chips. And will be available in two variants when it comes to internal memory options, one in 16GB with 2GB of RAM and another in 32GB with 3GB RAM. MicroSD card is also supported but only up to 32GB.
Before I forget to mention, this Ascend Mate 7 features an aluminum unibody design similar to most iPhone smartphones but the looks of this new Huawei phablet is very reminiscent to HTC One Max, isn't it? On the back panel is a quite busy side one as there users can see a 13MP camera with with Sony's fourth-generation BSI sensor, f/2.0 aperture and LED flash which should be enough to perform very well in capturing photos especially in low light conditions. And then right below that camera sits its Fingerprint scanner which users can use to unlock the phone, files and apps within it.
