Earlier today in Beijing, Meizu MX4 smartphone was officially announced and yes it packs monster specs but with more affordable prices. It was previously rumored and many speculation were reported about this device and looks like many of them were proven to be accurate just this morning.
The Meizu MX4 features a massive 5.36-inch Full HD IPS Display and sporting a very unique (I guess) pixel arrangement, 1920x1152 resolution with a total of 418 pixels per inch (ppi). I have never seen a resolution like that in that Full HD category, usually it's 1920x1080. Big screens with big resolutions really catches my attention and with just these two specs, I already like this device.
The external design is also a big plus for this MX4 as it is encased in an aluminum magnesium alloy shell. Additionally it features a thickness of about 8.9mm and only weights 147g. The MX3 or the predecessor of this smartphone uses Samsung Exynos chip for its octa-core processor but with the MX4, Meizue opted for MediaTek chips using the latest MT6595 SoC. It is still an Octa-core device and under the hood are four 2.2GHz and four 1.7GHz processors. RAM is at 2GB and its storage options come in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB, however it does not support microSD card for external memory and storage expansion.
The cameras are quite powerful on the Meizu MX4, both back and front snappers are powered by Sony Exmor lenses. The rear one boasts a staggering 20.7MP calibration which is able to capture videos in high quality like 1080p and 4K video formats. The back camera also comes with dual-tone LED flash for improved low light environment and it also has a 0.3-second focus time which is very nice. The front camera is a bit weak comparing it to the main camera, this only sports 2MP but still capable of 1080p recording.
Of course the party is not complete without the LTE connectivity feature, its a CAT 4 LTE which should be able to capture speed of up to 150MBPS. Meizu MX4 runs Android 4.4 Kitkat with the company's own UI Flyme OS 4.0 on top of it.
