Aside from the 2014 edition of Moto X smartphone that was unveiled by Motorola at IFA in Berlin, the company also unveiled another generation of its popular smartphone Moto G. And you know what it's called? You got it Moto G as well, just like the new Moto X but for 2014 edition. I just do not get why they did not select another set of names for these devices. A lot of people may get confused as to which Moto X and which Moto G they will refer to.
And just like what we can expect from successor devices, the Moto G 2014 is a bit bigger but a lot better than last year's version and it's still going to cost users the same price. We still get an HD display on this one but instead of 4.5 inches Motorola bumped it up to a full 5 inches of HD IPS display which is very nice. Also on that same front panel sits the dual speakers. So the sound will go users location instead of going away.
For the cameras, these are also definitely improved. The rear one features an 8MP with autofocus, LED flash and f2.0 aperture lens which should let in more light as users take photos and videos. Your pictures in low-light areas should be brighter this time. The front facing snapper is pegged at 2MP.
The shell is made of plastic unlike Moto X's metallic casing, but the Moto G still looking nice and thanks to Motorola as they will be selling extra cases for the Moto G in 15 different color selections. I like this idea instead of being stuck using the same color, so having different color selections for my device is adding different touch to it depends on my mood. If I could just buy all available colors so I could change it every day I would definitely do it. : ) But yeah, I like colorful devices.
And then there is one more good thing about this device and many users are asking and looking for it, a stock version of Android OS. Yes, Motorola is using the stock version of Android 4.4.4 Kitkat on the Moto G. This may sound good to many and that includes me, I want a simple kind of software yet able to do all the things I ask of it. You know what I mean. This also guarantees users to get Android L updates once the newest OS is officially out.
