Apple just announced the new iPad Air 2, the newest full-size iOS tablet from the Cupertino-based tech company. Just like the also-newly-announced iPad Mini 3, the iPad Air 2 features a stunning and enhanced Retina display boasting a 2048x1536 resolution across its 9.7-inch screen. Plus the new slate now features the Touch ID fingerprint scanner which Apple said is the most requested feature from the consumers, this also means that the Air 2 will support Apple Pay service. And yes it's the thinnest iPad ever bearing a 6.1mm profile, 18% thinner than last year's iPad Air. Read on for more details about the new iOS slate.
Additionally, the iPad Air 2 has an anti-glare coating which Apple said eliminates up to 56% of reflection compared to the previous iPad Air. The processor has been upgraded too and it now sports a 64-bit A8x processor which the company claims to be about 40% faster, M8 motion co-processor is also updated and included inside the device. On the back sits an increased 8MP iSight camera with f/2.4 aperture that is also capable of 1080p recording, 720p slo-motion clips and panoramic images up to 43 megapixels. And an iOS 8.1 right out of the box.
