Apple today has just announced two new slates for this year's offerings. One of those new iOS products Apple will be selling this year across the world is the iPad Mini 3 just like what the rumors were referring to in terms of naming the device once unveiled. And as the name suggests, it is the third generation of iPad Mini tablet since the first one debuted in 2012. Like what happened between the first and the second Minis there were a lot of differences and upgrades that took place and that was exactly the same thing many tech enthusiasts were expecting when Apple was about to introduce the new Mini 3, however it's not the case this time.
It was actually a very brief discussion Apple did when they came to the point of unveiling the iPad Mini 3 and there is a reason for that. So what are the differences between the iPad Mini 2 and this year's iPad Mini 3? Well Aside from the new gold color option and the built-in Toucd ID fingerprint scanner embedded underneath the home button, everything else is the same between the two. Even the physical design is very identical too. With that being said, many were disappointed about it.
In terms of storage options, there would be three variants 16GB, 64GB and a 128GB version which all would be available in WiFi Only and WiFi-LTE options. Pre-order starts tomorrow for a starting price of $399. Meanwhile iPad Mini 2 just got a price cut and now selling for a base price of $299, so if you really do not care about the new gold color and Touch ID feature, iPad Mini 2 is the best alternative to this.
