Google Nexus 9 Tablet Announced Features The Newest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS

Together with the Motorola-made Nexus 6 smartphone, Google also unveiled another Nexus device which this time is made by HTC and it is called the Nexus 9.  It is a tablet with 8.9 inches of IPS LCD display boasting a 2048x1536 resolution. And of course part of the new gadgets announced by Google is the inclusion of the newest mobile operating system for this year, Android 5.0 Lollipop runs on the Nexus 9 tablet. This newest OS was first unveiled in June and was simply called Android L, but starting today its official name is Android Lollipop version 5.0.

The Google Nexus 9 is the first slate from Google to sport a 64-bit chip and powered by an NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor clocked at 2.3GHz, it's a dual-core by the way. There is 2GB of RAM for all its three configurations which are 16GB, 32GB and 32GB LTE. Unfortunately, still there is no microSD card slot for additional storage space in case the default ones are not enough.

Nexus 9 is equipped with HTC's BoomSound dual audio speakers and its rim casing features brushed aluminum metal. The battery is also upgraded to 6,700mAh size which Google claims to last up to 9 hours of usage on a single charge.

In the US, pre-order for the Nexus 9 will start on October 17th and tablet will hit stores as early as November 3. Google also said that 29 more countries will start offering the device over the coming weeks. For how much? International pricing has to be revealed yet, but US pricing is going to be $399 for the 16GB, $479 for the 32Gb and $599 for the 32GB LTE variants.
