Blackberry Passport Smartphone Now in the Philippines for Php35,790

The Blackberry Passport was initially announced in September and then just this week it has officially arrived in the Philippines with a price tag of Php35,790. Blackberry Philippines held an event in Makati officially launching the device in the PH. The smartphone is primarily aimed at professionals on the move just like many of the previous Blackberry devices. The Passport has a very unique form factor sporting a square shape with the display boasting a 4.5-inch size at 1440x1440 resolution. It is also protected by a Gorilla Glass 3.

Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor is onboard clocked at 2.2GHz and paired with 3GB of RAM for a smoother multitasking experience. Internally the Passport has 32GB of space but still can be expanded via microSD card up to 128GB.  Aside from those specs above, the Blackberry Passport is equipped with bigger rear camera at 13MP powered with optical image stabilization, autofocus and LED flash and f/2.0 aperture. Front camera is at 2MP.

Blackberry Passport comes pre-installed with Amazon Apps Store app which means users can still download Android apps from the that store. Users can also download Android apps from other websites but not directly from Google Play store. Even though the Play Store is not supported, it's still good to hear that this particular Blackberry smartphone is capable of running Android apps.

Users of the Blackberry Passport can take advantage the usability of the Blackberry Blend application for PC and Mac computers. The app gives users ability to sync the content in their Passport with their computer, laptop or tablet without the need to save the files in the cloud first.
