Back in October Cherry Mobile unveiled the new Ace smartphone the first of its kind in the Philippines to be powered by a Mozilla-made Firefox OS. Then today via the company's Facebook page, has announced that the Cherry Mobile Ace is now officially available in the Philippines. There was even a short unboxing video released. How much? Only for Php1,499.
It is an entry level smartphone and has a very super affordable price tag of just less than Php2k so we really cannot expect too much from the device like we wanna get from flagship devices, but the Ace has definitely unique things to offer than other same level gadgets can't.
First of all it is powered by Firefox OS, that is going to be a whole lot new experience from the big guys like Android, iOS and Windows Phone. How this OS is different from the others? Below is what Mozilla says about it which is posted on Firefox OS about page where you can learn more about the new mobile operating system.
"Firefox OS is the only operating system with Adaptive App Search. While every other phone today is static, giving you the exact same apps each time you turn it on, Firefox OS is always changing to offer exactly the apps you need at any moment in your life. It adapts so you can live every moment to its fullest.
The Cherry Mobile Ace sports a 3.5-inch HVGA display with 480x320 resolution and powered by a single-core processor clocked at 1.0GHz and paired with 128MB of RAM. Internal storage is relatively small at 256MB but it supports microSD card which can hold up to 16GB. There is a 2MP rear-facing camera with fixed focus. And then the battery is pegged at 1,250mAh size which Cherry Mobile claims to last up to 200 hours on standby mode.
Cherry Mobile Ace is now available at any CM Kiosks and concept stores for Php1,499.
