Together with the newest ZenFone 2 smartphone that boasts 4GB of RAM, LTE and Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, Asus also announced another ZenFone device at the CES 2014. The ZenFone Zoom. And just like the Samsung Galaxy K Zoom and Nokia Lumia 1020, this new device from Asus, aside from the power-packed specs, has more juice to the camera aspect of it.
The Asus ZenFone Zoom is basically the ZenFone 2 it's just the Taiwanese company created this particular Zoom version with the professional and amateur photographers and the likes in mind. Dubbed "the thinnest smartphone with a 3x optical zoom lens yet", the device sports only 11.95mm at its thickest point.
The main camera is pegged at 13MP and it has a lot of things going on in here. For example, the shooter is equipped with OIS or Optical Image Stabilization technology, there is also the f/2.7 aperture with it. The 3x optical camera also features up to 12x zoom-in capability. Laser autofocus system can also be found on the ZenFone Zoom for precise and fast focusing on the image. HDR, macro-mode with manual-mode are also available.

The processor, RAM and internal storage sizes were not mentioned by Asus but many tech blogs are saying that the Zoom will also be powered by a 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 at 2.3GHz same as the Zenfone 2 with also 4GB of RAM. I guess this will be confirmed by the company before they officially release the device. Asus ZenFone Zoom is scheduled to be released in the second quarter of the year for a price tag of $399.
