Oppo R1C Now Official with Sapphire Glass Back Panel, Octa-core and 2GB RAM

Oppo has just announced a new smartphone offering for the year 2015, the Oppo R1C and will come in a variant where the back panel in covered in sapphire glass. There is also a non-sapphire one which will definitely be priced lower than the other version. The device will be released first in China on January 20 for price starting at $400.

The Oppo R1C features a 5-inch HD display powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core 64-bit Snapdragon 615 processor with 2GB of RAM alongside it. Internally there is going to be a 16GB of storage and this also supports microSD card up to 128GB of running out of space is not going to be a problem with the R1C smartphone.

On the back is a 13MP main camera equipped with Sony IMX214 sensor and paired with a 5MP front facing camera. It is already having a 64-bit processor but the software still Android 4.4 Kitkat with Oppo's Color OS 2.0.1 on top, hopefully an Android 5.0 Lollipop will be released soon but as of the moment users will get a Kitkat OS on the device. Powering the whole smartphone is a 2,420mAh battery.
