This initiative was started by the Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg where he wanted to provide free internet access to those markets and users who are less fortunate to afford of getting online, and the Internet.org was born about a couple of years ago. Since the project's implementation, Internet.org has partnered with a lot of companies and websites around the globe to make this project a little bit bigger in terms of scope and support, thankfully Smart Communications Inc is one of those tech companies that share the vision as Zuckerberg. With that being said, the free internet access initiative is now in our very own shore.
The official Philippine partner (as of now perhaps) of the project is Smart's Talk N' Text brand. As usual and expected the free internet will be available to all Smart, TNT and Sun Cellular subscribers.
How to access this free internet from your phone?
There are actually two ways to do it. The first option is by going directly to the internet.org website and select the listed sites that you want to browse. Make sure that you are within the internet.org website to avoid data charges. The other option is by downloading the Internet.org Android app from Google Play and start browsing the listed sites, the same drill applies, don't go outside of the app or other non-listed sites to avoid unwanted internet access fee.
