Meet the New Microsoft Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL


At the on-going Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Microsoft took the opportunity to unveil two new Lumia offerings for the year. Meet the Lumia 640 and its bigger sibling Lumia 640 XL. These are budget-focused devices that come with free Office 365 Personal for one year and 1TB OneDrive space.

At launch, these two Lumia devices will be running on Windows Phone 8.1 which is the latest mobile OS from Microsoft, however the company said that once the upcoming Windows 10 OS is released later this year these Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL will be upgraded to the new operating system. Windows 10 will be the ultimate operating system for all smartphones, tablets, laptops and PCs running Windows OS.

Microsoft said that the Lumia 640 XL will have a global release in March while the Lumia 640 will be rolling out in April of this year.
