MyPhone Rio 2 was first spotted online yesterday via Facebook groups. First look at the device front panel and its specifications were the highlights of the leaked images but no pricing and availability yet. Today a couple more leaked images have emerged online not showing the Rio 2 but a mini version called Rio 2 Lite.
The photo looks to be captured from a promo poster stand at some MyPhone stores, according to Unbox.ph it's from an anniversary sale event at Wiltelcom Gaisano Mall Davao branch. But it's most likely to be also available at all Wiltelcom branches nationwide. The photo says 1-day sale event only and that is today March 28, 2015.
Unlike the MyPhone Rio 2, the Lite version on the image shows its promotional and official pricing. Promo price due to the event is only for Php3,999 while its suggested retail price is Php4,599.
The pricing here gives us a hint as to how much the Rio 2 will probably be priced once officially launched. But looking at the specs, the two share many of the same configurations like the rear and front cameras, processor, RAM, internal storage size and Android Lollipop processor. See more specs below. The only two differences I see are the screen size and resolution which is unexpectedly smaller and lower respectively and then the battery pack coming in at only 2,120mAh versus Rio 2's 2,800mAh.
