Fujitsu Announces First Iris Scanner-Equipped Smartphone with Arrows NX F-04G

Smartphone security features nowadays are becoming more secure, smarter, more complicated and more reliable than it was years ago. First we only had "swipe to unlock" or similar features from others, then there was "draw a pattern" or "key in security code" thing and a combination of both in some cases, and very recently the fingerprint-based security and authentication function. What about eyescanner feature? Well we know it will come one day, but I did not expect it to arrive today. Japan-based Fujitsu just announced the Arrows NX F-04G smartphone that sports iris scanner.

The feature is called Iris Passport. And just like the fingerprint security feature, this Iris Passport can be set up to unlock phones and other security-enabled apps and to make payment as well. Yes this is the very first device and company to offer such advanced feature, but we do not know yet how exactly this thing works in action.

According to Fujitsu, the Iris Passport when fully set up can unlock the phone in just half a second and it is smart enough to distinguish the difference between twins' eyes if the other is trying to unlock it and is not authorized.

Apart from the eye-scanning feature, the Fujitsu Arrows NX F-04G is also a kind of a beast in the song of smartphones and tablets. : )

Looking at the list of revealed specs below, we can definitely say those are the things that we want in a smartphone we can own. It sports a large 5.2-inch Quad HD IPS display, under the hood is an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor with 3GB of RAM and a 32GB expendable internal storage via microSD card.

While the resolution for front camera was not unveiled yet, the main camera features a 21MP calibration. Only a few smartphones out there that feature above 20MP shooter, not to mention that the device is already running the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and supporting 4G LTE network.
