After it was leaked a couple of days ago, MyPhone has officially announced the Rio Pixie smartphone. This is a device targeted at those users who love taking photos and videos using their smartphones, especially those individuals who just enjoy taking selfie and groupie photos whenever they have the opportunity to do so.
The main event on this MyPhone Rio Pixie is the implementation of 8MP rear camera with LED flash and autofocus and a front facing camera that is also coming in at 8MP resolution. What more is, the smartphone will come out with a free selfie stick, that's I think the first time it happened. But wait there's more! The ultimate selfie experience does not actually end there, according to MyPhone the new Rio device will also come pre-installed with a selfie-centric app called Fotoku so users can add more effects and tweaks to their images before sharing to their social media accounts.
Apart from the selfie related features that the MyPhone Rio Pixie will be offering, the phone is also equipped with mid-range specs like a 720p resolution for its 4.8-inch display with AMOLED technology and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 screen layering for damage protection. Under the hood is a 1.3GHz quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM and an internal default storage of 8GB, that is an expandable one so no need to worry about running out of space.
Additionally, just like most of the new Rio smartphones for the year, the Rio Pixie is running on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop mobile OS. It supports 3G and HSPA+ network, however MyPhone has yet to announce of the device is dual-SIM supported and how big the battery is going to be for this one.
