Whether Google's Android One initiative a success or not in the country, I cannot tell but I am pretty sure it is doing well overall as we are now hearing new devices getting prepared for the next wave of Android One devices. First in the batch is the Lava Pixel V1, and it is now official in India.
The Lava Pixel V1 has a lot to offer when it comes to upgrades from the first generation Android One devices, and still being offered for price that is not too much. Like any other Android One devices, the Lava Pixel V1 runs on the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS at launch and will still get latest updates directly from Google for the next two years. One of the best things about Android One devices is that they are the first devices to get the newest update from Google. Android M is going to be released later this year, and if you own or will own an Android One device, you will also get that new OS before the year ends.
Comparing the Lava Pixel V1 with current Android One smartphones, the device offers far better specs. For example, it features a massive 5.5-inch IPS display with720p resolution and full lamination technology and is at the same time protected by a Dragontrail Glass. There's 2GB of RAM and an expandable 32GB internal storage.
The cameras are bit tricky here and I just don't know how it exactly works. The rear camera lens is pegged at 8MP but with software tweaks, it can generate a 13MP photos with BSI. The same thing for the front facing shooter where there is a 5MP lens and is able to generate 8MP images. Sounds cool right?

Higher specs for very affordable prices.
