Cherry Mobile One with LTE is the New Android One Device to hit Philippines

A few of days ago, the second generation Android One device has been launched in India and it's called Lava Pixel V1 offering mid-range specs and features and a beautiful casing. After hearing that particular news, I was pretty sure that the Philippine versions of new Android One devices were about to be revealed as well. True enough, Cherry Mobile followed a teaser photo on their Facebook page  days after that hinting that the new wave of Google-initiated smartphones will get updates and specs bumps.

All I know as of this very moment is that Cherry Mobile is going to unveil new Android One powered devices this month, that's it. I don't know what the name of the device is and what specs this will sport. However, many of out local tech blogger friends are suggesting that this new device looks very similar to the one Google launched in Turkey via General Mobile. And since most (if not all) Android One devices share the same line up of specs as per Google's guidelines, we can safely assume that we think we already know what features this new Cherry Mobile device will have in store for us.

Cherry Mobile One 4G specs:

- 5" HD IPS Display
- 1280 x 720 resolution, 294ppi
- Corning Gorilla Glass 4
- 1.2GHz quad-core 64-bit processor
- 2GB RAM
- 16GB internal storage
- Supports microSD card up to 32GB
- 13MP rear camera with dual-LED flash
- 5MP front camera
- Android 5.1.1 Lollipop
- WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS
- Dual-SIM
- 3G
- 4G LTE
- 140.5 x 69.75 x 9.3 mm
- 135g
- 2,500mAh battery

One of the significant upgrades we see in this new device is the implementation of the 4G/LTE network support which many smartphone users look for in a device for the fastest internet browsing possible. And just like current Android One smartphones, this one will also run on the most recent Android OS, the version 5.1.1 Lollipop which will then be supported for software updates directly from Google in the next 2 years.

It's also important to note that the specs above which is based on the General Mobile's Android One offering is just speculation for the upcoming Cherry Mobile's. We will know if these are all accurate including the phone name once the local Pinoy tech company formally unveils the phone on August 10.
