MyPhone has just officially announced its new budget-friendly octa-core powered Android smartphone offering called the My31. This My31 phone also marks the return of the Myphone-original signature, the Philippine map on its back panel and the Pinoy Content App version 3 that comes pre-installed with the device.
If you have been following MyPhone's devices since they first started offering phones and up until 2013, you will mostly likely remember that MyPhone stopped offering devices with Pinoy-related content and design beginning with the Ice Berg series in that year, at least that's what I can recall. But with the MyPhone My31 handset, those audio format of prayers, novenas and religious songs are returning with the Pinoy Content App on My31. Even more is the inclusion of complete bible books, Pinoy Trivia, Philippine History and Pinoy Recipes are all come preloaded.
Talking about the main specs of the MyPhone My31, most of them are the typical mid-range specs we usually see on local smartphones, like the HD IPS display, 1GB RAM and a MediaTek octa-core processor. USB OTG, dual-SIM, 3G support are some of the connectivity we can expect from the My31 alongside the combination of 8MP rear and 2MP front cameras.
If there's one turn off I should point out, I think that would be the mobile OS and the price, it will be available for a price tag of Php4,999 it's not that expensive actually but knowing that the smartphone runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat is what makes it a bit pricey considering that we can own other MyPhone devices that already running Android Lollipop OS for almost the same price say for example the MyPhone Rio 2 although this only sports quad-core chip. Many, if not most users, are more concerned about the age of OS than having more cores inside a phone. But for users who prefer an octa-core than having the current Android Lollipop in exchange for Kitkat which is also a nice software, then this My31 should be one of the devices on their list. Octa-core OS and Pinoy Content App are what makes this My31 so different from the rest of the competition both in and outside of Myphone.
