Microsoft is back on track and just launched a few interesting and powerful products sporting the latest Windows 10 operating system. Two of these new devices are the high-end Lumia 950 and a bigger sibling Lumia 950 XL smartphones. In summary, these two Windows 10-powered devices are actually identical to each other in terms of design and most of their specs. Only major differences are the screen sizes and the processors that power them.
The two Lumia smartphones are both high-powered, attractive, exciting and head turner not to mention these are the first Windows phones to use Qualcomm's latest processors and Windows 10 OS. However, the Lumia 950 XL has some extra "cool" feature, that's the liquid cooling technology which is most likely to address users complaints about heating issues faced with Snapdragon SoCs.
Microsoft Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL also have the highest screen resolution among Windows-powered devices to date, sporting Quad-HD (2560 x 1440) with ClearBack OLED technology. That's an eye-popping viewing experience for sure. When I am to buy a non-Android mobile device, it will definitely be a Lumia phone and to be exact this will be either of these two. 3GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage which is expandable via microSD card up to 200GB, hexa and octa core Snapdragon processors are just some of the exciting specs these new phones sport.
There are other blogs and sites that are reporting these new devices being able to support microSD card up to 2TB while others stick to the 200GB mark. I am not sure yet which one is true, but I think I will stick yet with the 200GB one as it is already big enough and besides 2TB memory card is not in existence yet. However, once it is super confirmed that these Lumia devices are indeed capable to taking 2TB of microSD card, I will update this post or create a new one.
Microsoft is also bringing their super camera capabilities with the new Lumia 950s. On the back is the 20MP PureView main camera all equipped with the Carl Zeiss tech, OIS and triple LED flash paired with a 5MP front camera for selfie and video calling uses.
what I am really rooting for these devices is the inclusion of the new Microsoft-exclusive technology called Microsoft Continuum, this new feature allows users to turn their Windows 10 smartphones into a fully-functioning PC when they connect it with a monitor, keyboard and mouse via a docking accessory. Continuum is now the best mobile feature I like, I just can't wait to see it in action.
