Okay so you have been playing Pokemon Go for days now and realized that you really need to buy Pokecoins from the in-app shop in order to purchase more items like Pokeballs, Lure Modules, Incense etc to continue your pocket monster hunting adventure. Your next question is probably going to be, how to buy Pokecoins in Pokemon Go? Well there are a couple of ways on how you can do such thing, and one of them is by using PayMaya.
In case you don't know yet, Paymaya is a free payment solution service from Voyager a digital innovation arm of PLDT and Smart. You can download Paymaya app for free from Google Play, in case you do not have one yet. Then you can activate your PayMaya account using you mobile number, any mobile number regardless of carrier will do. To learn more about PayMaya like where and how to reload funds, check out my review here.
Now assuming your PayMaya account is all set up and ready to make purchases online, let start this tutorial on how to use Paymaya to make purchases from Pokemon Go shop via Google Play Store.
Link your PayMaya to your Google Play account.
In order to make any in-app purchases, you will first need to link or connect your Paymaya account with your Google Play account. Before linking your Paymaya, please make sure that you have at least Php60 extra funds in addition to the cost of the items you are to buy from Pokemon Go. This is because Google Play will try to charge your PayMaya account to verify that it is an active card or account. Don't worry you will eventually be refunded of the Php60 verification fee in a few days.
Follow screenshots below showing steps on how to link.
Launch your Google Play app and click on the 3-bar Icon located at the top left corner of the screen.
After clicking the icon, a pop window will be shown giving you access to the app menu. Next thing you will want to click on is the Account option.
To go to the Pokemon Go shop, click on the Pokeball icon on your screen and select the Shop option in the next window. In the Shop, it should show you items you can purchase like Pokeballs, Incense, Lucky Eggs, Lure Modules, Incubators, Bag Storage and Pokemon Storage Upgrades. To buy these items, you will need to purchase first the in-app currency which is the Pokecoins. Just scroll down below to the Pokecoins section.
Make the Purchase in the Pokemon Go in-app shop
To make your purchase, you just have to click on the Pokecoin denomination you would like to buy. Say for example you will buy the 550 Pokecoins option which is for Php235. Tap on that and the below screen will pop up asking you to confirm your transaction. Just click the Buy button.
On the next slide below, you will be asked to punch in your Google Play account password before the order is processed and completed. Click the Continue button, again another sms confirmation will be sent, and you are done. You should see in Pokecoin balance bar at the top right of the Shop the number of Pokecoins you just purchased.
And finally, you will just the same thing when making the item purchases using your newly bought Pokecoins.
