Apparently a More High End Version of Asus Zenfone 3 Max is Coming

I don't know about you but I was really surprised to learn that as of writing there is already a new confirmed variant of Zenfone 3 device coming to the market. So fast right? I mean we are still waiting for the official release of other Zenfone 3 variants in the Philippines. What's more is this new variant is another battery-centric device - a much upgraded version of Zenfone 3 Max.

The new Zenfone 3 Max (ZC553KL) has a bigger 5.5-inch screen and an upgraded display quality at 1920 x 1080 or Full HD. The front and rear cameras have also been upgraded on this variant with the rear shooter now with 16MP and a front cam being pegged at 8MP. Processor wise, this one has an octa-core Snapdragon 430 chipset, again a more powerful one compared to the first Zenfone 3 Max phone. Apart from those, the rest of the specs are just the same as original Zenfone 3 Max smartphone like running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, Fingerprint Scanner, Powerbank Functionality, 4100mAh battery and more.

Just to give you a quick refresher, the current Zenfone 3 Max sports 5.2-inch HD (1280 x 720) IPS display, and 13MP rear and 5MP front cameras. And the processor is a quad-core MediaTek MT6735.

Based on those specs, I can really say that that's a lot of improvement already knowing that it is just another iteration of Zenfone 3 Max and not a successor. In fact I was a bit disappointed when Asus officially unveiled the Zenfone 3 Max with the display resolution still the same as last year's 720p. I was really expecting this year's Max to sport a much higher screen resolution. But with the launch of this bigger 5.5-inch Full HD and Octa-core version, I think I am more happy now since the Zenvolution Philippines a couple of months back. Hopefully the price is also as attractive.

Asus Zenfone 3 Max (ZC553KL) specs:
  • 5.5-inch Full HD IPS Display
  • 1920 x 1080 resolution
  • 2.5D Contoured glass
  • 64-bit Octa-core Snapdragon 430 processor
  • Adreno 505 GPU
  • 2GB / 3GB RAM
  • 32GB Internal storage
  • Supports microSD card up to 128GB
  • 16MP Rear camera with f/2.0, Laser Autofocus and LED Flash
  • 8MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture
  • Android 6.0 Marshmallow
  • WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS
  • Dual-SIM
  • 4G LTE
  • 3G
  • Fingerprint Scanner
  • USB OTG Support
  • Powerbank Feature
  • 175 grams
  • Glacier Silver, Sand Gold, Titanium Gray, Rose Pink
  • 4100mAh battery
In terms of design, nothing has changed so far as it looks exactly like the Zenfone 3 Max device. Now since this particular version was just silently uploaded on Asus' website, there is no information yet as to when this device will be released and for how much. Most likely, this smartphone will also be available here in the Philippines, we just need to wait a little longer. My guess is we might have it in time for Christmas or maybe early next year.
