Samsung Philippines' Galaxy Note7 Recall and Replacement Process


Samsung is very busy right now doing the worldwide recall of the latest Galaxy Note7 phablet they just released a couple of weeks ago. Also at the same time making sure that the exchange process is going to be as smooth as possible. In case you are not aware yet, Samsung has just officially unveiled that they are recalling all the Galaxy Note 7 devices worldwide due to confirmed reports of exploding batteries.

That being said, Samsung Philippines just released an update on how they are going to handle the recall and exchange process in the country whether you purchased the Galaxy Note 7 phablet from one of their authorized stores of got from one of the telco giants.

So what to do in order to make sure that your Galaxy Note 7 is exchanged with the new device?
  • All Samsung Galaxy Note7 smartphones purchased on or before September 7, 2016 are covered by this recall and need to be exchanged. 
  • Users should bring the Note7 unit, complete with boxing, proof of purchase, and a valid ID to the Samsung authorized store where the device was bought. 
  • The old unit complete with original packaging content is surrendered to the Samsung store and they will get a replacement on in the same color at no additional charge. 
  • Users can instead have their Note7 replaced with a Galaxy S7 Edge until December 31, 2016.
  • If you got your Galaxy Note7 via Globe or Smart or via Lazada Philippines, Samsung advises you contact them directly to request for replacement.
