It has been quite a while since Asus released a tablet in the Philippines and I was actually starting to think that maybe we would no longer be getting new ones from Asus anymore. Thank goodness I was wrong as Asus has just launched a brand new and budget friendly 6.9-inch tablet called the Zenfone Go 6.9 with model number ZB690KG.
Yes it is a budget-centric device that still offers not that bad set of specs. As the name suggests, the Asus Zenfone Go 6.9 sports a 6.9" HD IPS display, that's equivalent to 1024 x 600 display resolution. Inside it that powers the entire device is an unspecified quad-core processor from Qualcomm paired with 1GB of RAM. Alongside this memory is an 8GB internal storage which is also expandable via microSD card up to 128GB.
Camera department offers 8MP shooter on the back with LED flash and then a 2MP front facing camera for selfies in case camera on your phone is not available. This device runs on now aging Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with ZenUI on top. However, considering its price tag of less than Php5k, I guess there's no need to complain on its software, after all Android Lollipop is still a pretty solid mobile operating system and still a huge number of Android devices out there are on Lollipop.
And then one more good thing about this device is it supports SIM card for mobile data connectivity and possibly for call and text functionalities as well. This Zenfone Go 6.9 houses dual SIM slot that supports up to 3G network connectivity. Don't worry, the microSD card has its own card slot.
