So Nokia has just officially returned in the mobile industry. At least in China as the Android-powered smartphone called Nokia 6 has just been unveiled for the Chinese market which is slated to be launched early this year. Nokia 6 is a midrange handset manufactured by HMD Global Oy (also a Finnish company) that got exclusive licensing deal to Nokia branding for smartphones and tablets to bring the iconic mobile brand back in the scene.
Nokia said it is "the first Nokia phone powered by Android." The Nokia 6 will be powered by the super latest Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box. Complementing this newest Android OS are the octa-core Snapdragon 430 processor, a massive 4GB RAM and an Adreno 505 GPU. For storage there will be a 64GB rom, although it was not mentioned it looks like this is also capable of handling microSD card for memory expansion.
Not so much details have been released both by Nokia and HMD Global about this phone but they have disclosed enough information for us to get excited about it such as the official promotional video (which you can watch below), key specs and features, as well as pricing. One of the missing specs is the battery size, it was not mentioned as to how big the battery is going to be but revealed that the Nokia 6 will be equipped with Quick Charge 3.0 technology. With this detail, I am guessing the battery will be at least 3000mAh.
Other official information about the handset includes a large 5.5-inch Full HD display with 2.5D Gorilla Glass layering for added protection and premium look and feel to it. In addition to the mentioned specs above, encased in the metal chassis are the 16MP rear-facing camera powered with PDAF and Laser Autofocus and an 8MP front facing camera module for seflie and video call needs. Both snappers are with f/2.0 aperture for better performance in low light scenes. There's also a Fingerprint Scanner situated at the home button right below the screen as per shown in the promo clip.
