OnePlus 3 and 3T Will Receive Android 8.0 O Update

Recently, people over at OnePlus held an AMA (ask me anything) interview on Reddit which of course participated by a lot of OnePlus users and fans. And while most of the questions and clarifications were about the newly launched OnePlus 5 smartphone, one of the Redditors asked if the OP3 and OP3T are now to be forgotten by the company since OP5 is their latest flagship. Surprisingly, a company representative answered the said question and confirmed that those two devices will also get Android O update "within this year" alongside the latest OP5.

Now that's one of the things fans really want to hear, especially those 3 and 3T users. Hopefully though OnePlus will keep its promise, particularly this one. Although many users have now confirmed that this Chinese company has always been on point recently when it comes to rolling out updates to their existing devices, it is still unforgettable that OnePlus 2 users were also promised to receive Android 7.0 Nougat update by the end of 2016 which never came.

It is important to note that the upcoming Android 8.0 O platform is not officially out to the manufacturers yet like OnePlus. The Android 8.0 version was only announced in May during Google's I/O developers conference, it is still in beta mode and only a couple developers previews have just been released. We don't even know what it's going to be called though Android Oreo is the  most guessed name so far.

The search engine giant is scheduled to release the final version of this new mobile OS in the Q3 of this year and that the upcoming Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 will be the first devices to come out with Android O pre-installed right out of the box.
