Meizu Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus are now officially announced

The Meizu Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus sporting dual screen and dual camera configurations have just been made official in China and are expected to be available as soon as August 5, 2017.

While the two smartphones offer very decent set of specs both inside and out, one of the most unique features found on these phones is the secondary AMOLED display found on its back. This second rear display is also one of the most talked about and leaked features of the device for weeks prior to this official launch. What it does is quite useful, at least on paper. Meizu said it can display notifications, weather, time, control music playback and many other things. It can also serve as user's preview panel when taking selfie photos using the dual rear camera. What's more interesting is that it's in full color.

Speaking of the back cameras, yes the rumors and leaks were also correct to spot that these Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus are to be offered with dual 12MP camera setup on the back. Meizu said one of these shooters captures in color or RGB and the other in monochrome, similar to Huwei P9 and P10 series and the newly announced Moto Z2 Force. This will allow the cameras to product well detailed photos even if taken in light challenging environment. For selfie purposes, the front camera is pegged at 16MP.

The differences between the two would be in a couple of areas. One of course would be the display size, the smaller Pro 7 has a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD resolution while the bigger Pro 7 Plus will have 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display and with Quad HD resolution instead. Processors also differ between the two, Pro 7 is powered my a 8-core Helio P25 Mediatek chip and the Pro 7 Plus is embedded with 10-core Helio X30 Mediatek processor.

As for their RAM and storage, Pro 7 will have 4GB and 64GB and the bigger will be with 6GB RAM and either 64GB or 128GB storage options. And of course the battery sizes will not be the same as well, we are looking smartphones with 3000nAh for the smaller and 3500mAh for the bigger. Both will be equipped with mCharge 4.0 fast charging technology from Meizu itself.
