ASUS ZenFone 5 Series to be Announced at MWC 2018 on Feb 27

Big names like Samsung, HMD Global, Sony, Xiaomi are officially coming to this year's Mobile World Congress tech expo in Barcelona, Spain to formally introduce their respective flagship smartphones. But the list does not definitely end there, as today, one more electronics giant is set to join the pack - ASUS.

According to the invite sent by the Taiwanese company to the media and bloggers, Asus is to announce the next ZenFone series of their devices, also known as the Zenfone 5, on February 27th.

The invite material, as you can see in the image above, does not actually say ZenFone 5 but the hints are clear enough what we are to witness at this event. The #BackTo5 hashtag sitting side by side with the "We Heart Photo" logo are already dead giveaways. And knowing that last year we had the ZenFone 4 series, there is no other answer but the ZenFone 5.

Referring to the recent rumors surrounding the next ZenFone lineup, details about two of the devices have already surfaced online. One being the ZenFone 5 Max running an Android 8.0 Oreo OS right out of the box and another being called as ZenFone 5 Lite which is said to sport 18:9 aspect ratio display.

Since ASUS has already adopted the dual camera setup with the ZenFone 4 series and an 18:9 aspect ratio display with the recently launched ZenFone Max Plus, we can safely assume that these new technologies are definitely coming as well with the ZenFone 5 family.

Right now, information about these phones are still pretty limited. But we will absolutely hear more and more as we get closer to the official announcement date. So stay tuned for more details.
