Wells Fargo & Co. Joins Philippine BPO Industry

Wells Fargo one of the biggest American financial institutions is now outsourcing some of their jobs in the Philippines. The decision of the US-based bank to set up their business process outsourcing operations in the Philippines is a vote of confidence in the quality of the local workforce, according to the firm's officials in the country, Inquirer reports.

Wells Fargo Philippines Solutions communications manager Theresa Lariosa said in an interview with Philippine Daily Inquirer, "At present, we employ 180 team members in our current facility, but this can house as many as 450 to 500 seats. We have two floors in Mckinley Hill for this, and we expect them to be fully occupied by yearend."

TUCP o Trade Union Congress of the Philippines president Ernesto Hererra said "We welcome Wells Fargo's launch of an "in-house" business support center in Manila, following the footsteps of JP Morgan Chase & Co. and Citigroup Inc."
