to Stop Social Networking by December

First it was that switched from social networking to social gaming hub, now it is's time.

During the time of Friendster in the Philippines, when Multiply started to boom in the in the local social networking space I thought it would be the next Friendster. I was wrong, it was Facebook. just announced the switch through a blog post by its CEO Stefan Magdalinski on the website entitled "We Are Sorry".

Starting December 1, 2012 all social networking features and content (photos, blogs, notes, videos etc) will no longer be supported by Multiply. All the existing content will be deleted starting the transition date. But don't worry, the Multiply CEO said they will be providing us options to download or transfer our stuff to other online services. That option/steps will be announced soon.

Multiply decided to pull the plug off of its social networking platform and focus more on e-commerce one especially in two Southeast Asian countries where they have a large number of e-commerce activities, in Indonesia and the Philippines.

If you wish to keep your content from Multiply, I advise you constantly check your Multiply account for the migration update or else like I mentioned everything will be permanently removed by December 1. For those who have seller account in Multiply, according to Stefan,  no need for you to do anything as you will not be affected by this change.

Stefan Magdalinski also noted that those who have unused balance for upgrading to Multiply Premium Account will be issued a refund. Just call their customer service department to ask for refund.
