Pinterest Rolls Out Android App and Redesigns iOS Apps

Pinterest is a social networking with pinboard-style photo sharing website. Months ago I tried to sign up for an account at Pinterest and I found out that it was an invite-only site. Meaning you have to get an invite first from a Pinterest user before you can create your account. There was an option to sign up to get an invite, once you provided your email you have to wait first for someone from Pinterest to invite you. If I remember it right it took almost two weeks before I got my invite.

Well, that was before. Pinterest just recently lifted the invite-only policy and it is now open to everyone. That's one of the good news coming from this popular social network player. This week they released yet another good news for "Pinners" on-the-go. A Pinterest Android app was unveiled. According to Pinterest this Android version supports both smartphone and tablet devices. Along with that update they also released app redesigns for iOS phone and tablet gadgets. Aside from Apple App Store and Google Play, you can also download the app from Apps.Pinterest.com.

Pinterest users post a content or photo on this site called "Pin/s" on their pinboards, followers are able to see those pins and just like other social network sites they can share or re-pin a content, like or comment on them. Don't have a Pinterest account yet and interested? Take a look at their website www.pinterest.com.

  1. This is really a great news, now it won't take that long to us to get an invite as it took to you. I would even love to give a try to their app.
