Cebu Dancing Inmates' Gangnam Style Version

The last time I saw a Gangnam Style parody was made by our very own Bogart The Explorer from Davao City. I find it very astig since its theme is very Filipino and I like it so much. As of writing the video has 1,092,281 hits with 7,564 likes. Now, on Saturday September 29, 2012 there was another "Gangnam Style" rendition released by another Pinoy Pride, the Cebu Dancing Inmates of the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC).

Gangnam Style is a world wide music video hit made famous by the Korean rapper Psy and is currently the Guinness World Record holder of the "Most-Liked" video in YouTube history with the current 3,214,551 likes and a record of more than 330 million hits since posting on July 15, 2012.

Cebu Dancing Inmates became popular when they released their first YouTube video that went viral in 2007 dancing to the tune of the late King of Pop Michael Jackson's Thriller. Due to the flooding requests for Gangnam Style version of Cebu Inmates through the comments section of the Inmates YouTube videos, finally it has been granted.

On the YouTube page of the said video that was posted by Ryan Christopher, its description says..

"Due to insistent public demand, the world renowned dancing inmates of Cebu finally had their own version of Psy's Gangnam Style music video.

Despite the heavy rain yesterday afternoon, Sept. 29, at least a thousand inmates of the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC) entertained guests with their ecstatic adoption of the Guinness World Record holder for the "Most Liked in YouTube."

On a post on Rappler.com, a Belgium tourist Rudy Freemont was one of the tourists who joined inside CPDRC, applauded the Inmates not only for their dancing skills, but also for their smiles, which he said "captivated" him "from start to end"

It was great especially when they did it in the rain. It's my first time here (in the Philippines) and I'd love to come back." Freemont said.
