HTC Announces Windows Phone 8 Devices

I thought it was only Samsung which was going to release a Windows Phone 8 smartphone aside from Nokia. But HTC, a Taiwan-based manufacturer very recently unveiled their non-Android phones just like Samsung. Not just one, but two Windows phones. The Windows Phone 8X and Windows Phone 8S.

This is a Windows Phone 8X which has a 4.3-inch 128x720 Super LCD 2 Display with Gorilla Glass 2 coating.

It is powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor buffered with 1GB RAM, 16GB of memory space and a 1,800 mAh li-Ion Battery.

The design? It looks like Windows Phone 8 phones are building their own image and looks as the design of HTC Windows Phones is comparable to the Lumias.

HTC decided to include an 8-megapixel camera on this one with LED Flash.
On the right is the other smartphone released by HTC, the Windows Phone 8S. This one's is a bit smaller at 4 inches. It's still Gorilla glass-coated WVGA LCD screen.

Camera is not bad at 5 megapixel. The 8S comes with 4GB internal storage but you can still expand it via microSD card to up to 32GB. 1GHz Dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor.

Now that Nokia, Samsung and this HTC are officially launching Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 operating system in their smartphones, I guess it would help a lot for Microsoft to gain a bigger market share in smartphone industry which is currently being dominated by Apple's iOS and Google's Android. If this new set of new Windows devices will be a big hit and followed by a great number and quality apps, I am pretty sure more players will join the Windows Phone 8 family.
