Pacquiao vs Marquez 4 Fight Confirmed

Many have said before that Manny Pacquiao would most likely pick Juan Manuel Marquez to be his next opponent over Timothy Bradley.

That was not confirmed until Friday when Bob Arum, Top Rank promoter, announced that Pacman chose Dinamita for a fight to happen on December
8, 2012 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. That's Dec 9 in Manila.

This Pacquiao-Marquez fight would be their fourth time since first encounter in 2004 where a draw decision ruled. Second meeting was in
2008 and the third one was in November of last year. The last two fights were in favor of Pacquiao and many are saying those two victory
fights were controversial. I barely remember how the first two fights went while the last one, to me, was Marquez's fight.

Like most Filipinos today, I did not feel any excitement anymore when I heard about the confirmation. For me the three fights were more than enough to tell their (Pacman and Marquez) places in the boxing world.

After what happened to the Bradley-Pacquiao bout, where Timothy was disputedly declared as the Welterweight champion via split decision, I doubt that this next fight of Manny will generate that much of
audience or even revenue that his previous fights had earned.

What I have been waiting for is the would-be a mega fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather before the fighting congressman retires. But so far, it is still very unlikely to happen and if it does in the future, everyone's excitement may no longer be as what it is right now. First is both fighters are not getting younger anymore and based on what I witnessed in Bradley-Pacquiao fight, Manny's speed, performance and power punches were far away from his prior fights.

On Monday, Top Rank will formally announce the Dec 8 event in Beverly Hills California. This Pacquiao-Marquez fight will be a Welterweight non-title match.

Mexican Juan Manuel "Dinamita" Marquez III holds a professional record of 53-5-1 with 39 KOs. Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao has 53-3-2 with 38 Knockouts.

Pacman is much younger than Marquez at the age of 33 while the latter is 39 years old.

  1. Here we go again.. Although this it's not a bad idea to fight them again in a fourth match, but I think boxing fans would be excited if another opponent will defeat Pacquiao, like Mayweather.

    1. Absolutely right Bro! But that seems to be impossible to happen.

  2. Let's get ready to rumble again. The fourth clash of Pacman and El Dinamita is quite off for both fighters but surely a better than a rematch to Bradley. Well, let us hope so that this bout will bring a knockout finally.

    Don't miss it fans!
