Jelly Bean Updates For Xperia Phones Announced

Sony announced on their blog post about some Xperia phones that would be able to get the latest Android Jelly Bean operating system update starting the first quarter of 2013.

According to the blog post, the Xperia T, Xperia TX and Xperia V will start receiving Jelly Bean update within the Q1 of 2013. So if you are an owner of one of the mentioned Xperia devices, just a little bit of patience and you will have the taste of Jelly Bean very soon to your smartphone.

Kindly take note that the availability of the update will depend on the market and sometimes on your mobile carrier if you happen to be under a postpaid plan.

However, in that post a bad news was also stated. Xperia phones that were purchased in 2011 won't be getting a Jelly Bean update but promised to provide us a regular maintenance update for the Ice Cream Sandwich on those devices. That maybe due to the capability of the phones to run the newest Android OS so they decided to keep those Xperias on ICS.

They also mentioned that the Android 4.1 global version update for the Xperia S, Xperia Acro S, Xperia Ion, Xperia P, Xperia Go and Xperia J is now on its way but will have to create a separate post for additional details such as when the update will be rolled out.
