Nokia's HERE Maps Now Available in Apple App Store

Now there's another alternative to Apple's native maps app for iOS users as Nokia's Here maps just hit the App Store.

The Finnish company's newly-launched location based service is available to download to your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices running at least iOS 4.3 version. And the great thing about it is Nokia gives it away free of charge. So Nokia is really taking advantage of Apple's own native maps' struggles as the iOS app does not satify many of its users since released. But at the end of the day it's still the consumers will be able to tell if Here is worth the switch.

Some other features that Here maps offers are turn-by-turn voice-guided walk navigation. We can also download a specific location for offline viewing, nearby places discovery, public transportation and driving directions and many more.

So for now, the Apple devices users will be the first ones to enjoy the Here for iOS apps as Android version and for other platforms will follow soon. Maps app like this is very helpful especially to people who travel a lot and go to places they are not familiar with. I myself use maps every now and then from the physical maps to the ones found on the internet. But most of the time I just ask people who work in public places such as MMDA and police officers, security guards, street sweepers and of course drivers and many more as they are still the best navigation references.
