Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini Ships With Updated Jelly Bean OS

Good news for some Asian countries as the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini is being shipped out with the latest version of Google's Android operating system Jelly Bean 4.1.2 right out of the box. The little brother of Samsung's current flagship phone Galaxy S3 was announced in October with the Android 4.1.1 mobile OS running on it.

According to a blog post by Sammobile, the S3 mini with 4.1.2 Jelly Bean pre-installed is currently available in Indonesia and Vietnam and most likely the rest of the market where this handset is sold to will follow suit. The post also mentioned that the downloadable firmwares are available in their firmware page and should you prefer to download it yourself make sure you do important things like creating a back up for your phone in case something goes wrong or do it with someone has a knowledge on flashing a smartphone.

Some of the great features we will find in the new Jelly Bean include the upgraded Premium Suite which introduces some functions that are previously found in Galaxy Note 2 like the Multi-window and the Paper Artist App.

Just like what I mentioned in my previous post about the announcement of the Galaxy S3 Mini, I thought it was only the physical size would be the difference between its bigger sibling until I started reading some reports that even the internal specs were also minified.

Samsung Galaxy S3 flaunts a 4-inch Super AMOLED display with a pixel resolution of 480x800, 5-megapixel back camera paired with a VGA front one, 1GHz dual-core processor and RAM pegged at 1GB. Same as the other devices, it also supports microSD card for storage expansion.
