Smart LTE Now Available on iPhone 5 Plus iOS 6.1 Update

Finally it's here! We know that Apple's most recent-released smartphone iPhone 5 supports LTE (Long Term Evolution) technology. But when the iPhone 5 was released in the Philippines in December last
year, its software didn't come with LTE support. Today the software update iOS 6.1 has just been made available to iPhone users and that also means activating the LTE feature on our iPhone 5 devices.

4G/LTE is another level internet connectivity which boasts a staggering download speed of up to 42mbps.

In the announcement made by Smart through its Facebook page, it tells us that iPhone 5 postpaid subscribers are automatically entitled to enjoy the speed of its LTE network for free until the end of April

"Subscribers of Smart iPhone 5 postpaid plans with Unlimited Data can now get download speeds that are up to 20 times faster than the usual 3G connection on their mobile device." Smart Executive Vice President
and Wireless Consumer Division head Emmanuel C. Lorenzada said in a press release on Smart's website.

"Smart iPhone 5 users on iPhone Plans 999, 2499 and Unlidata Plans 1500, 2000 and 3000 can automatically use Smart LTE for free until April 30, 2013." the announcement added.

Now to download the newest version of iOS which is iOS 6.1, you can do it OTA or Over The Air by simply heading over to your iPhone's settings, select General then go to Software and Updates  Hit Download and Install. Follow the on-screen instructions on how to complete the software upgrade  Yo may also do it via iTunes.

Go now and update your iPhone 5 software and enjoy the Smart LTE offerings while it's free. And after April 30, let's hope that Smart will give us the most reasonable and affordable LTE Plans and Pricing.
