Taiwan's Hon Hai and Mozilla to Launch Firefox OS Device

Mozilla and Hon Hai Precision Industry, according to reports, have partnered together to create to create and launch a device that will run on Firefox operating system. Many of us already knew that Mozilla has released smartphone on the market running their open source operating system for mobile devices which is called Firefox OS.

Back in February this year at Mobile World Congress that was held in Barcelona Spain, Mozilla announced that they have created partnership with major telecoms providers around the world and with some electronics manufacturers in the industry to build and market Firefox-powered mobile devices they will release in the future. Such partners that were mentioned are ZTE, LG and Alcatel. Additionally, Focus Taiwan cited an "industry insider" who said the collaboration between Mozilla and Hon Hai is going to create a tablet. Hon Hai is also known as Foxconn by the way, which is a well known manufacturer of Apple iDevices like iPhones and iPads. This company also assembles devices that run Google's Android operating system.

Some known tech blogs have tried to ask additional details or comments on the reported rumor about the tablet but neither of the companies provided answers or additional information aside from what was already indicated on the invitations that they sent to the media. At this event, Mozilla and Foxconn are expected to unveil their first finished and ready to market Firefox OS device.
