Sony Introduces Xperia M

Folks from Sony Electronics just revealed an Android smartphone under its Xperia line-up. Meet the Sony Xperia M.

Under its scratch-resistant glass is a 4.0-inch FWVGA touch-enabled screen with 854x480 pixel resolution. This new Xperia M packs in 1GHz dual-core snapdragon S4 processor paired with 1GB of RAM. However, the phone only comes with 4GB of internal memory on board but like any other handsets around, it supports microSD card of up to 32GB.

As for capturing moments, Xperia M will provide you a 5-megapixel back camera powered by an Exmor RS sensor. The lens is capable of 720p video recording set at 30 frames per second. For your "selfie" shots and video calls activities, a VGA front snapper will be your companion. Sony Xperia M will run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS which also includes Sony's own user interface.

Connectivity wise, Xperia M unfortunately does not support LTE data connection. The newly unveiled Sony smartphone resembles Xperia Z and Xperia Tablet Z language design sporting a slim profile measured at 9.3mm thick. One good thing about Xperia M is it comes in multiple color selections which are black, white and purple. There is also another version of this phone which is a dual-SIM one and comes in an exclusive yellow color variant.

The battery will have 1,750mAh. Sony said this phone's global availability will be in the 3rd quarter of this year. Sony Xperia M price still has to be announced.
