First Look at 300: Rise of an Empire Trailer

Finally it's here after waiting for the last more than 8 years since we first saw the 300 movie. Warner Bros. today released the long-awaited first trailer for the 300:Rise of an Empire, sequel to Zack Snyder's 300 film in 2007 which was top billed by Gerard Butler as King Leonidas.

A new official poster (below) for director Noam Murro's 300: Rise of an Empire was released yesterday by Warner Bros. through "300" Facebook page with a caption that says about the very first teaser trailer for the new Spartan movie would be released today. I really waited for the trailer to come out today as this is what I have been waiting for since it came to my knowledge that 300 would be having a sequel. 300 by the way is my favorite movie, so you can understand how excited I am about this film. See the trailer below.

The trailer opens with Queen Gorgo, King Leonidas' wife talking to Spartan warriors. Then we see the one of the final scenes in the previous 300 movie where Leonidas and his 300 men were slaughtered by Xerxes forces and then Xerxes taking the King's head as his trophy of victory over Spartans.

There also we see Xerxes' General Artemisia played by Eva Green leading the god king's other army. The trailer appears to be picking up right after the events in 300 unlike what other prior reports saying the Rise of an Empire's plot would be the same time as the 300's and would be just in different places, but the trailer is telling us a differently.

About over a month ago I was wondering why I have not seen any trailers for this movie because I was under the impression that this would be released sometime in August of this year. I went on searching for updates on this film and found out that the showing date was moved from August to March of 2014. I was kinda disappointed but  did not care that much as there was this Man of Steel by Warner Bros. as well and maybe it was because of this Superman movie why the showing date was moved. Good thing they released athis trailer to lessen our (300 fans) frustration. I can still consider this as a treat for this year. And of course as we approach the date, we are expecting to see more trailers and TV spots for the movie and some new posters perhaps.

300: Rise of an Empire is directed by Noam Murro and stars Sullivan Stapleton, Rodrigo Santoro, Lena Headey and Eva Green. Opens on March 7, 2014.
