First Trailer for "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" Released

Warner Bros. just released today the first trailer for its second installment of  Peter Jackson's the Hobbit trilogy which opens this December, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. It is based on J.R.R. Tolkien's book The Hobbit.

Above is the first official theatrical poster for the new Hobbit movie which was just released yesterday including the announcement that the first teaser trailer would be out today which just happened. See the trailer below and tell us what you think about it.

The desolation of Smaug picks up where The Unexpected Journey left of and continues the journey to fight the giant dragon named Smaug. Main characters Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf and Thorin Oakenshield will still be played by the actors Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen and Richard Armitage respectively from the first Hobbit movie plus this time we see new characters that we did not see in the first film but have appeared in the first Lord of the Rings trilogy like Orlando Bloom as Legolas and there is also Tauriel a female elf portrayed by Evangeline Lilly.

What I did not expect to see in this trailer is seeing Orlando Bloom again reprising his role as Legolas as I was not digging too much on this trilogy. The trailer itself is very exciting and heartpounding that is because of the stunning scenes that are showcased in it plus the musical score throughout the clip. Even though it is still 6 months away to see the whole film, the first trailer serves as a relief especially to the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings fans around the world. At least we know that it is getting real and we are getting what we are expecting to get.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is scheduled to released this December 13, 2013. Directed by Peter Jackson, the same director who brought us the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The first Hobbit movie was entitled "The Unexpected Journey" which was shown last December of last year and then the final installment "There and Back Again" will be in December as well of next year.
