Celebrate Harry Potter's 33rd Birthday With These Newly Unveiled Book Covers

July 31, 2013 was Harry Potter's 33rd birthday. And for some reason I didn't know that Harry was born in 1980. I am pretty sure I am not alone. Now to celebrate the birthday of "The boy who lived", Scholastic, the publisher of the most popular young-adult book series has finally unveiled the final new book cover for the Deathly Hallows book. This completes the new cover arts for all the seven installments written and created by J.K. Rowling who happens to also have the same birth date as the boy wizard.

Also Harry Potter's birthday coincided with the 15th anniversary of the books' release in the United States. The new art covers are illustrated by artist Kazu Kibuishi. As you can see in the photos above, the updated covers showcase very familiar scenes from the movie adaptations of the books. If I am not mistaken, those are the scenes that were first shown in the movies' theatrical trailers. From Diagon Alley to Hogsmeade and down to escaping from the Gringotts Wizarding Bank.

Not only the front covers got a facelift, the spines of the seven books were also redesigned where if you put them together in order you will be greeted by an image of Hogwarts, the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the Harry Potter world we know and love. I hope the Filipino fans will also be able to get their hands on these new drawings covering the books they grew up with.
