Cherry Mobile Announces Cosmos X, X2, S and Z Smartpnones

No, Cherry Mobile is not done yet. The local tech brand has once again announced new Android-powered devices which will be released under "Cosmos" line up. "Experience the new universe" as part of their tag line for the new devices. On July 24th at their Bigger and Brighter press event, Cherry Mobile officially launched the Cosmos X, X2, S and Z.

One thing remains the same in these new line of smartphones from Cherry Mobile, and that these phones will still be powered by Android OS. Jelly Bean to be exact. And then there is one thing these handsets offer that other local smartphone brands don't have (as of yet), Super AMOLED screen display. Cosmos X and Cosmos X2 will sport Super AMOLED faces while Cosmos Z will be in full HD.

Cherry Mobile said on their official Twitter account (@cherrymobilePH), " We are the first local brand to bring Super AMOLED and Full HD technology to the Philippines!".

Other things I noticed about these phones which are common to all of them, all of these Cherry Mobile Android handsets have quad-core processors and an 18-megapixel BSI cameras. Plus all four of these new variants will run on Google Android Jelly Bean 4.2. Lets take a look below at each of the phones' technical specifications.

The very first in line is the Cosmos X. This one is powered by a 1.2GHz Quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM that works behind the 4.7-inch Super AMOLED HD screen. Based on the released image above by CM, back and front cameras will have 18MP and 8MP respectively and that is with flash. But there is one down turn in this one, I know you already know what it is. 4GB of built-in memory space. But if you have an existing microSD card or you don't care buying one, then that would not bother you that much. Cherry Mobile Cosmos X is yours for a price of Php9,999.

The second one is called X2, this one has a little bit bigger screen display that the X at 4.8-inch measurement which also sports a Super AMOLED HD screen. The same thing for the processor at 1.2GHz Quad-core chip plus 1GB of RAM. For storage space, X2 is four time bigger than the X, 16GB. Camera configurations is the same. Then this one will be backed by a 2,200mAh battery. The price? Php 11,699.

The Cherry Mobile Cosmos S sports a quite more powerful chip at 1.5GHz Quad-core processor,1GB of RAM, 18MP and 8MP back and front snappers and 16GB of memory. Unlike the other three, Cosmos S is a single SIM device sporting a 5-inch HD IPS Screen. This one will cost you Php10,999.

Just like the Cosmos S, Cosmos Z also offers a 5-inch screen size but in Full HD with 1080x1920 pixel resolution.

  1. These are phones, but nobody seems to be posting the bands these phones operate in. Will they operate in the US or in Japan? Far as I know, the X2 is triband only so it might not operate in Japan. Haven't really seen any posts on the frequencies of the Cosmos phones.
