MyPhone Introduces Agua Iceberg Phablet

Recently while Starmobile and Cherry Mobile were releasing and announcing their own smartphones and tablets left and right, I thought MyPhone has thrown in the towel in the smartphone and tablet race. I was wrong. MyPhone just announced its new flagship Android quad core phablet called Iceberg. And it is due for launch on July 26.

MyPhone Iceberg will have a 5.7-inch HD IPS LCD display, on top of it massive screen is a Corning Gorilla Glass 2 to protect from scratches,  a resolution of 1280x720 and 257ppi. This device will be powered by Google Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system. It will also sport a 1.2GHz quad core processor by MediaTek MT6589 and a 1GB of RAM. 16GB of internal storage will be onboard as well, however there is no clear detail yet if it will support microSD cards for extra storage space.

MyPhone's camera configurations for their new flagship phone are pegged at 12MP autofocus with LED flash and BSI sensor for the back one and a 5MP for the front snapper. 1080p video recording is also supported by Iceberg's lenses and machine. For its battery information, unfortunately it is not revealed yet by MyPhone but according to YugaTech it is going to be at 2,600mAh.

This Iceberg packs a real punch and to me the specs and features this phablet offers are not easy to just look at and walk away. First thing is the new 5.7-inch MyPhone device's offerings will come in an aluminum chassis which will give the phone a premium look and feel which I think is everyone wants, plus Iceberg has this what the tech company called TARA. TARA or Theft Apprehension and Asset Recovery Application is an app which allows users to disable the handset in case it gets stolen or lost. This is a great feature/app as it caters to users privacy and data protection and what makes this app and phone even greater than the competition? The TARA app is proudly Pinoy made and only available to MyPhone users. Clever Motion is the other feature Iceberg will have. According to MyPhone, this feature will enable users to control the Iceberg using only gestures such as wave-to-capture images, wave-to-dim (off screen), flip to mute and others. There is also the Wireless Display, this enables the smartphone to display its content to TVs wirelessly via a separately-sold accessory but more details to follow about this one, either during or after the launch.

MyPhone will offer a 24-month installment payment scheme through participating banks like Citibank, BPI, MetroBank and RCBC for only Php499/month. This is just sweet.

For now those are the details we have for the MyPhone Iceberg and I am pretty sure there are additional information to be unveiled at the launch event to be held on 6PM, July 26, 2013 at Eastwood City Central Plaza.
